About Central Station

Central Station is a place for young adults to connect to Christ and each other. We are not a college group, although we have a lot of college students. We are not a singles’ group, although we have a lot of singles as well as many married couples. We are group open to ALL young adults! We are especially intentional about reaching out to ages 18-25 because that is the largest age group of young adults in the Athens area.
Our heart is to be a place where we’re allowing the Holy Spirit to direct us in become what He wants us to be while growing closer together.
We desire to grow in Jesus and our relationship with each other as we wait with anticipation for the power of Jesus to rain down upon us.
Central Station is not only a place for community*, but a place to become part of a family.

*Good insight on community: “You must develop relationships with many different kinds of people in order to practice loving others. The Bible calls this being in “community,” which is another word for fellowship. To practice the “one another” commands that God has given us, it is absolutely essential that you find a church family and get involved in some kind of weekly small group study. An effective small group is more than just a Bible study, although that is a major component. It also allows time for interacting, sharing, questioning, and praying for each other. Community is the context where we learn to love…We are a family forged by the fires of God’s love, and we are to “Be devoted to each other like a loving family” (Romans 12:10). We are to love one another like brothers and sisters. This sense of family togetherness allows us to create authentic Christian community – where we are accepted, supported, and challenged to fully live out the purposes of our lives. We belong, and we help others believe that they belong.” (From Rick Warren’s 40 Days of Community).
